As soon as you step into Square One Brewery, you know you're with friends. The gorgeous wood bar pulls you in and practically demands you sit down and have a beer. They have 12 beers brewed on site and some change with the seasons. If you sit at the bar long enough to get hungry, there are burger specials each week. But what's special about the burgers isn't just the toppings, it's the actual burgers themselves. They can be anything from lamb to antelope to even kangaroo! Square One also serves brunch on Sundays. And if you're one to drink beer for breakfast, definitely try the Beermosa. It's their Light Squared brew with orange juice.

While I have been to Square One Brewery several times, it is usually just to sample the fermented goodness they pull from their taps. This past week I went for a late happy hour and dinner and sampled the breweries food for the first time. I ordered the weekly burger specialty that I had been told about on several occasions. This particular weeks burger involved prime ground beef combined with A1 steak sauce and topped with fried onion straws. I was excited about the combo, because onion straws are one of my favorite toppings for a burger. I asked for my burger medium, and it was a little overcooked, but not by much. The outside of the burger was caramelized and crisp and the inside remained juicy. I was very happy with the meal, and the combination of great food and beer will bring me back to Square One.
