Service and server were wonderful, however the food left us feeling weighed down by the grease. The salad was nicely dressed and tasted fine, however all the other items we ordered were swimming in grease. My first (and last) potato skin oozed oil when I tried to dip it into the sour cream. My husband's burger was also overly greasy. The chili had great flavor but nothing special to write home about except perhaps the oil slick on top of it. I can only assume they didn't bother to drain off any of the excess oil after browning the meat, yuck! The other problem with the chili was the tiny teaspoon I was expected to use. I asked if a soup spoon or larger spoon was available, but alas the teeny teaspoon was the only size the place had. Evidently I wasn't the first customer to bring this up since both servers I talked to were aware that it was troublesome. Fixable problems if management cares...
The food was good, the servers were good, the hostess was good, but the kitchen staff was HORRIBLE! Went with four adults and three kids, and the adults were all completely finished with dinner before the first kids meal showed up! Server was very apologetic, hostess was very apologetic, the assistant manager (on duty) couldn't be bothered with stopping by the table and the general manager never responded to my email. There are too many other really good places to eat on the loop[ to have to deal with this nonsense! This is one you can forget!
Market pub house is located in the U-city loop, only moments away from Wash-u, and is one of the best restaurants in st. Louis. not only is the food great(and cheap) but the service is second to none!( Cynthia is the best waitress ever! make sure to ask for her:). if you like sports bars this is the place to be.
