My husband and I are recent transplants to the St. Peters area and have been looking for a place just like this! We are so incredibly tired of the chain restaurants, which is all that seem to be in the area. We found Erios on a random web search and thought we would give it a try. The ambiance is what I would call old fashioned italian. Think Cunnetto's, only smaller. Flowered wallpaper, white table cloths, small vases of flowers on the tables...you get the picture. The place was packed (on a Saturday night) when we arrived at about 6:45pm, however we only had to wait about 15 minutes. They led us to an oversized table which was nice since we had our 3 year old and 1 year old daughters with us. Service was a little slow to start (as I mentioned they were quite busy), but the friendliness of the staff certainly made up for it. They took extra care to bring us small bowls for our girls and even baby spoons! The chef came out to greet the diners and was very charming. The hostess (maybe the owner, not sure) also came to our table several times to check on us. Did I mention how busy they were? To take the time to give personal service was pretty amazing! Now, on to the food...I had the carbonara which was outstanding. My husband had a chicken dish (sorry, can't remember the name) and it was fabulous too. When I ordered fettucine for the girls, our server even asked me if I would prefer shell noodles to the normal fettucine noodles since they may be easier for them to eat - wow! Even the other patrons were frienldy and made menu recommendations to us - obviously a lot of regulars. I almost hesitated to write this review since I am not sure I want the secret to get out! Overall great experience! We intend to be regulars soon too!

Here it is in a nutshell: This is the best Italian North of Highway 40, plain and simple. The food is way above average, the selection is great: it is not just "sauce and noodles" like you find at too many so-called "Italian" restaurants in St. Louis. I had the Pescatore, and it was absolutely bursting with various seafood. The Calamari, Clams, Mussels, and Shrimp were fresh and the price was great.... only $13.95. The portion was huge, I should have saved some for home, but it just tasted so good I had to finish it there. I went on a Thursday evening, and it did seem that they might have been light on waitstaff for the number of customers, which resulted service a little slower than you'd normally like to see. The staff was very friendly though, and clearly was trying their best. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired... but they do their best to make you forget you are eating in a strip mall. The place is very clean, which is what really matters. Overall, unless you live on the Hill or maybe in South County, this is far and away your best bet for Italian in the area!

The food here is wonderful. I suggest trying the fried cannelloni. The only drawback is the small dining room.
